Meet Esmeralda our Damrak champion
Hey I’m Esmeralda and I come from India. I’m the store manager at our Damrak store, which is located right in the centre and is the busiest store at the moment. I moved from India almost 4 years ago and didn’t want to go back ever since.
2nd time is the charm!
So a little bit back in time, 4 years ago I first visited an Amsterdam Cheese Company store to try some Dutch cheese and I randomly asked if they were looking for people to work there and it was that easy! I started working the next week which was great because I love talking to people and I got to make so many friends while working here. During that time I was a Sales Associate and got to learn so much as I spoke to people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Then COVID hit and I had to leave the job but then when it all got back on track I started working again but this time as a Store Manager, which is amazing because now I get to have my own team who I can train and work with in a very friendly atmosphere. Since I used to work at our stores before I knew everything that needed to be taken under consideration being in this role.

So let’s get to talking about my favourite cheese, I extremely love the 24 months old Gouda and the Truffle, but on some days I love the young cheese and it kind of keeps changing every day almost, how could it not when you see and get to eat cheese every single day. It’s the best job in the whole entire world to be honest.
